It can be a pretty hard time on our bodies with decreased exercise, decreased sleep, increase sweets, and increased stress levels. These seasonal tendences reek havic on our bodies and keep us from being our best. Here are a few tips to help you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
1) Maintain your workout schedule!
You may not be able to keep the same intensity or exercise as long due to time off schedule changes, but do something during your regular exercise time. This will help your body deal with the increased calorie intake that usually occurs at this time of year and will also help you deal with the increased stress levels that also occur during the season.
2) Use the small plates!
Anyone trying to loose weight during the Holidays is crazy! Maintaining is the best strategy. I found I do best when I use the small plates for meals and snacks at holiday gatherings. I don't deny myself of any of the tasty treats I just make sure I keep my portions small. When I do this and do some kind of exercise or activity everyday, I find the holiday pounds are not so scary and stay to a minimum.

3) Pace yourself!
We often try to fit in everything we can so that our families have every possible Christmas experience every year. As a parent of 2 small children, I have decided that it is better to do a few small memorable activities that don't have time limits where I can enjoy being with them and they have the time to experience whatever we are doing. Now there are no perfect experiences just perfect moments that come and go. Enjoy those and don't stress out when your family is not perfectly behaved.
4) Get Your Adjustment!
Getting adjusted during the Holiday Season is a great way to help your immune system, help your body deal with the schedule change, help relieve stress, and keep you at your best!
